"Men often become what they believe themselves to be. If I believe I cannot do something, it makes me incapable of doing it. But when I believe I can, then I acquire the ability to do it even if I didn't have it in the beginning" - Mahatma Gandhi

Here comes the sun....doo doo doo doo

Great song. I am currently waiting in Calgary airport for my flight to Phoenix for a week-long training camp. Time to leave the uneasy-looking snow-capped mountains of BC and head to some 20+ degree weather.

I am going to try and rock the 3-tone tan: the first from the speedo, the second from the bike shorts, and lastly the third will be the dark lower parts of my legs. Packing the bike yesterday went according to plan: I realised I hadn't packed the seatpost and saddle after the bike box was all packed up. Oh well, just a bit more weight for the other bag.

That's all for now. Time to get relaxed and get some sleep on the plane after about 1300-1400km of driving this week.

Updates as they happen.

Bloopers, animals...and squirrels.

With all the time I have right now with being sick, I have taken to doing some random searches on youtube. Then I figured I needed a laugh as sitting for a week on the couch doing nothing is a little tiring and boring.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n8SAjN34KS4 I cracked myself up laughing even though this is a short video and it probably isn't as funny as I was making out (but it is good).

I first saw this video as part of a ski/snowboarding video in 2007 but it is NUTS! These guys are crazy. The men in the squirrel suits...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ttz5oPpF1Js

For lack of anything better to post right now, that is it.

Honey, lemon, and ZIPPS!

Two of the best things in hot water. I have had to relegate my daily Starbucks ventures to the sidelines the last couple of days and stick to hot water, honey and lemon. It's good but lacks that little something....that's right, caffiene!

Well, the last few days I've finally come down with what is flu-like symptoms. I am a firm believer in kicking an illness without pills, so lots of fresh vegetables and fruit (more than usual) have been on the cards. I also have an insatiable thirst, going through close to 5 litres of water a day! Fingers crossed as I need to get back to training.

Coach Noa is putting on a camp in Phoenix for the last week of the month. 7 days of swimming, biking, and running. I am really excited as this will be the first camp-style training I have done since rowing (way back). I got the logistics of getting my Cervelo P3 back from Cranbrook for the UBC Tri in March (a week after we get back) while being able to save on driving time between here and the Kootenays also. That also translates into more training and less time sitting in a car drinking coffee to stay awake!

On another note, I am selling my 2006 Zipp 606 wheelset (with the bag). If you know anybody interested, please email me at kamal.rae@gmail.com.
